I live in County Durham, UK and have been a semi-professional photographer for over 15 years. My portfolio covers a wide range of photographic work and generally, has a lean towards more melancholic imagery. My work is often devoid of clues about the time of day and location the photograph was taken. The goal is to re-create those moments where there is no rush to be somewhere, no tasks to complete and daily pressures have subsided. I strive to capture that emotion by generating a feeling of peace, space and calm in my imagery. This is juxtaposed intentionally at times by uncomfortable, dilapidated elements that draw questions from the viewer about what the history or background of the location is. The space and calm, allows the viewer time to think about the story and generate their own narrative.
